The real secret to Enlist soybeans

The secret to growing Enlist™ E3 soybeans is to start clean. Plan your crop protection plan for Enlist E3 soybeans by starting with a clean sprayer and a clean field to maximize yield.

Clean sprayer

Start by spending time early in the year on ‘sprayer hygiene’ by thoroughly cleaning the entire unit from the tank and filter to every line, nozzle and end cap.

Enlist soybeans are not tolerant and are very sensitive to dicamba. For farmers transitioning to Enlist E3 soybeans, especially from Roundup Ready Xtend® soybeans, sanitizing and cleaning sprayers of dicamba and other herbicides is essential to avoid crop injury. Watch this short video – tank contamination and Symptomology ID – to learn more about crop injury comparison.

Clean field

Approach an Enlist E3 soybean crop protection plan by each field. The Enlist Weed Control System can offer tailored solutions by the acre or by the field that include multiple-modes-of-action for resistance management, residuals and herbicide options like Enlist™ 1 or Enlist Duo™ to achieve optimum weed control, higher soybean quality and achieve yield goals.

Start by identifying problem weeds. If a field contains hard-to-control weeds or herbicide resistant issues, like Canada fleabane, waterhemp or common ragweed, plan to use products that provide multiple modes-of-action to help manage resistance and reduce the risk of resistance development. Enlist E3 soybeans provide triple-mode of action herbicide tolerance (2,4-D, glyphosate and glufosinate herbicides) and offer a strong resistance management strategy.

Factor any problem weeds into early weed control and start with tillage, burndown herbicide or a soil residual herbicide. The Corteva Agriscience™ Field Guide App provides a complete Enlist E3™ Soybean Program Approach tool for a customized weed control system, offering decision-making assistance for customized weed control. The app also includes a quick access, easy and user-friendly guide to assist in choosing the right products and the right order to tank-mix them.

Plan for two passes with Enlist E3 soybeans – a pre-emerge pass to reduce early season competition from annual grass and broadleaf weeds, and a post-emergence application for optimum weed control and reduced weed competition. Apply Enlist Duo or Enlist 1 herbicide (no later than R2 or full flowering stage) for post-emerge weed control. Both powerful tools, the Enlist herbicides include Colex-D technology to help ensure that the herbicides land and stay on target.

Enlist E3 soybeans will have their best start with a clean field. Early weed control and a planned program approach to every soybean acre can increase yield potential. And keeping soybeans weed free during the critical weed free period is the secret to a successful crop. Talk to your local retailer, agronomist or Corteva Agriscience Retail Territory Manager for more information about how to plan your crop protection program for Enlist E3 soybeans.
